Attendance as emailed.   Reminders - NO students EVER to: sit on couches, have food or drink in the space, enter the sound or lighting room, utilize the backstage area or the upstairs area. Please be sure that the sound/lighting room is locked as well as the teacher office AND the door to the drama classroom is locked and secured prior to departing for the day!  Warm Up: TA's can lead and or student (appropriate) select 4-5 stretches to start the day! Theatre Sports: Character Jars! There are jars with blue lids beside the teacher station. Select the 'people' - characters jar.  Put students into groups of 3-4. Provide with 2-3 min on stage for them to act out their assigned characters (each group gets one).  Audience to guess what character each group is. Expansion - there are 'What' and 'Where' jars as well if you would like to expand on this activity. Dec 8 2022 Last Day for Radio Play Rehearsal

Last Day for Radio Play Rehearsal - sound effects to be completed.  To End: Dude! Players stand in a circle and look down or close their eyes.  Someone counts to three and everyone must look up at someone eyes.  If anyone makes contact, they are to say "Dude" and take a seat.  A variation of this is instead of saying "Dude", they pretend to die dramatically.  Elimination continues until everyone is out. Possibly - Wink Murder or  Clump:  Split class in half. Half on couches and half to activity. Then switch. Participants walk around the stage space. I will call out a number. Students - you need to try to get into groups of that number. Any participant that does not make it into the group - is - out of the game. OR Re-Do  Wax Museum/Night Watchman For Night Watchman, one person is designated as it (the Night Watchman) and everyone else will play as a wax statue.  The Night Watchman will cover their eyes and count to 10 while everyone else stri...

Dec 6 2022 Radio Play Rehearsal & Body Movement/Theatre Sports.

You have two amazing TA's for this class - Michelle & Lumi. Michelle and Lumi - to do attendance.  Students have all been assigned groups & a radio play - today will be their last day for rehearsal before mic checks and lighting checks. Provide groups with the majority of class for run throughs. Assign TA's to supervise and check in on each group (as well as yourself as TTOC). End the class with a fun theatre sport activity - Michelle and Lumi can lead this. Some ideas are linked HERE for you as well just in case. Also some below for you as well. Attendance.  Block B ( 2 nd  period) on   Dec ember   2 nd  we have film makers and Sinixt elders presenting   two   films and a panel discussion.    This is very appropriate for curricular competencies and for Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being—specifically, "Learning is reflexive,   reflective , experiential, and relational (focused on connectedness, on reciprocal relationships, and a sense of place)".
